As a Biochemistry student, I am in a very competitive career, not only because every one of us wants to get good marks but because the WHOLE system makes us compete over and over again. Why am I telling you this? It is because is the truth. Let's just think about now, in a couple of years more, this University will give a huge opportunity to four people only (that is what I've heard), just for the people with the best marks and the ones that had done a lot of extracurricular activities... These people will be able to take a Master in Biochemistry course at the same time while they are finishing their Bachelor's degree thus they are going to end with two titles. Thereby, at this right moment, all of the freshers are trying to get the best marks and stuff... So as might realized we all (biochemistry students) want to have this opportunity.
But, now, just wait for a second, take a deep breath and take a seat, because it has not finished yet. Then we have to look forward to the future. Why? because after our Bachelor's and maybe after a postgraduate study, We, as scientists, will continue competing with each other.... What for? Guess WHAT! For the money, Because CHILE's government is not interested in sciences, so they practically
Anyway, forgetting about that you are pretty much ''forced'' to do a postgraduate study. I will really like to do one, I really like to study, and to get new knowledge... getting to know how stuff works make me very happy, that's why I chose Biochemistry. If I do get to have the opportunity to do a postgraduate study I will do a Doctorate in Molecular Biology or in Biotechnology. The first one because it would allow me to understand further, and the second one because it would give me another area to work in... I would love to do postgraduate courses abroad so I would be able to make networking and Who knows? there is so much to do in the world.
i hate the government because don't give the spaces for the science
